Memorial Wall
Everyone who has ever joined Firestormers has had to basically hear the same speech, in one form or another, over the years, but we believe strongly in our core values. For the most part, we are a guild of adults with jobs and families, and we do things like take off holidays and give extra time off to spend with our flesh and blood families. We came together over a shared interest in a video game called EverQuest, and we've done alot of great things in our virtual world together. We are a group of great folks, who have spent way too much time together and have come to care for each other much like a second family. Just like in our actual families, there are tiffs and spats, and while we may give each other a hard time here and there, woe be the outsider who crosses us. We may not share the link of blood or bone; but we have the bond of a shared, committed passion, and everyone that passes through our halls becomes one of us, whether its for a few days, months, years, or now, decades.
Unfortunately, as time passes, and we grow older, some of our online friends become fallen warriors. This page shall exist to serve as remembrance of them; honor their memories; and share our love for our companions with their families. Many of us are lucky to have extremely supportive, large families. Others have Firestormers to fill that need. And while our group here may never meet their moms and dads, their brothers and sisters, children, spouses; or other loved ones; know that we loved them and remember them and hope that our stories help you find solace and comfort. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Charter
Firestormers is a progressive raiding/friendship-based guild. Leadership and members alike will be focused on the goal of fun and enjoyment of the game while participating in events that take us to new and higher places.
Members that are being abusive, obnoxious or generally disruptive may be removed from the guild at any time without notice. Anyone removed will be permitted to contest the removal with the removing officer, guild leader or a panel of all officers. Profanity and generally upsetting comment will also not be tolerated in guild chat or chat channels accessed by raid members.
Officers are faced with a lot of responsibility and are to be treated with RESPECT at all times. Disrespecting an officer will result in guild removal, a warning, or a suspension of privileges. Officers are expected to treat every member the same way.
While wearing the "Firestormers" guild tag, you represent the guild, and your actions are expected to uphold the highest of standards. Training, kill stealing or harassment of others in zone wide channels will not be tolerated, and will result in disciplinary action and possible expulsion. Members will be given the benefit of the doubt until and unless there is proof to the contrary.
Wear the "Firestormers" tag proudly. The use of anon is not permitted. Roleplay may be used; however, it MUST be removed for raids and events.
All player alts will be "Firestormers" guilded or non-guild. Multi guilding is not allowed without specific agreements with the officer staff.
Guild message board should be checked daily for events and general news. NEVER give out the password to message board in general channels or allow others to log in on your forum account. Tells to an officer will resolve board issues.
We understand you may have friends from other guilds. However, should you provide your account information to a friend, and they abuse the access to guild channel or our standards of behavior in any way... you are held responsible. They must answer any tells with honesty and respect.
Ninja looting is an automatic guild remove.
Lying to the leadership is cause for guild remove.
The Guild leader, officers and raid leaders take precedent when on raids. Do not criticize the leaders, the tactics, or participants in open channels. Use tells or PM's with valid and respectful suggestions. You should read and be prepared for every raid with at least the basic strategy as posted. You are expected to have invis devices, shrink devices and gate potions if you can't just cast them. Open dissention is cause for removal.
Preparation is the key to our success ... so be prepared to succeed. We expect you to be present at your keyboard except for restroom breaks, doorbells, phone calls etc. If you are called away make very sure that it's ok to be gone for more than a moment. Your class leaders and group leaders must know when you are not there. Ninja AFK's will be sent to zone and removed from the raid. They will receive zero dkp for the encounter. If you are a group leader and need an afk for any amount of time you MUST pass group leadership to someone else.
As a member of "Firestormers" you will be expected to spend a lot of time with your guildmates. When we are raiding ... with a few exceptions ... we expect you to be there if you are online. We don't do a role call or punish members who can't be online, but we do have minimum raid requirements set for you to remain an active member.
On guild raids, clerics and casters that use spell components are to be compensated through the guild fund. Funnel requests for compensation through any officer. Items that may be sold are to be turned it to any officer to cover guild expenses. We supply spells and some trade skill upgrades to members in good standing when we can. Class leaders are the POC for any requests.
LOOT POLICIES:
Raid loot distribution is accomplished with a "dragon kill point" (DKP) system based on values established that correspond to the value of the encounter to the guild. Members gain points with raid participation and are allowed to bid points, up to their accumulated total, on items which drop during the raid. There are restrictions within the system (Full members vs. trial members, class usable, etc.) which are necessary to create the fairest possible solutions. Some loot may be designated for one class only to bid on at the leadership's discretion. Members may NOT sell/trade on the open market any loot which has been a direct function of the raid/loot system. Any loot no longer usable by a member can be put up for "sale" for points to other members within the guild. The points acquired will go to the member who returned the item regardless of original dkp cost.
Members are expected to read and understand the point system as it is written in the member forums. All of the restrictions and other ways of gaining points are explained in those posts. Changes to the system made by officers will be posted and explained as necessary.
Loot obtained with single group participation is decided within the group. Non target mobs and non-target mini raids will fall within officer or senior member (in the absence of an officer) responsibility.
Firestormers has become a solid and respected guild. We fully expect every member to act with honor and integrity...we require it.
